At some point, we need to write a petition letter to Museo Civico Medievale di Bologna, asking them to list their arms and armour collection online. I want to see good photos of their swords so badly. I've placed an order for https://www.deltin.net/6160.htm because I saw a pic of the original that they hold (only 7cm long grip, from seeing a measuring tape next to the original grip). The cherubim decorations look gaudy, but that's historically bad taste and thus, it's lovely. Truth be told, it looks better on the original due to patina or blued fittings. And Museo Civico Medievale di Bologna has some interesting sideswords that I cannot find good images anywhere.
I wrote to him to make sure he still accepts orders. I should receive my order in December or January, and I'll post some photos and my thoughts then. But I have high hopes for the 6160 piece, and I'll either sharpen it or keep it blunt as a rigid advanced trainer (i.e. no safe flex for sparring). Btw, he is reducing his available line-up at any one time.
Writing to you about this must have been good luck... Fulvio just wrote that my swords are done and ready for delivery. I guess I'll post my impressions sooner than I thought.
Beautiful dive!

Oh man, is Del Tin still making swords, I'm going to have to order one of those!
That's exactly what I thought in the Summer. :)

Nice, I'll have to move a couple of swords and pick one up. That's gorgeous.

Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Hi,
I took some pictures in the museum during my last visit there last year, you can find them here: https://apps.scrappbook.de/BJtCg7Q41g
Thank you for sharing this. Can I use a few pics in a future post about the Del Tin piece?
Of course, also for future posts :)
Greatly appreciated it!
The longsword I saw has a similar hilt like one from the Oakeshott collection. Yet that's a rare hilt to see around, so this will be useful to me. :)
These are such great photos! Thank you for sharing with us.
there's so much great info in here! Also wild to know that February once had 30 days in it
